Unilever Bangladesh jointly sponsored a Global Essay Contest organized by Anwarul Quadir Foundation (AQF) a non profit organization that promotes economic development and social justice in Bangladesh. The NGO encourages people to develop rational thinking and make innovations in order to solve problems and improve their lives. Contestants from around the world submitted essays about improving the current situation of Bangladesh.
The global essay competition winners were Saifuddin Ahmed from Bangladesh and Anastasia M Telesetsky, an environmental lawyer from San Francisco. They were given a prize money of USD$25000 at the ceremony titled 'Innovative Bangladesh' as a fund to implement the project.
Saifuddin was awarded for his proposal of managing and increasing productivity in agriculture by using absentee-owned land. Telesetsky was awarded for her proposal of promoting the use of Moringa Oleifara (Sazne leaves), an indigenous plant, to improve nutrition for low-income people.

Unilever Bangladesh supported this initiative to contribute towards the development of Bangladesh and promote innovative and sustainable ideas that could help the country move forward.
