Unilever Bangladesh pavilion receives special recognition at the DITF

Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) marks a milestone this year after winning the Special Recognition Award at the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF). As one of the most renowned fairs in the country, DITF acknowledges its partakers by offering these awards based on criteria like architectural structure, safety, aesthetic beauty, pavilion operations etc.

The two storied Unilever Bangladesh pavilion was an architectural wonder this year. The exterior was a wonderful mix of light, space and texture and the aesthetic use of light and space in the interior created a perfect room to showcase all the brands, the various sustainable activities of Unilever, and Unilever’s journey in Bangladesh.

LCD displays played audio visuals and commercials of UBL brands, around the clock. The brands were showcased on the exterior of the pavilion to catch the eyes of visitors from quite a distance.

This year, the Unilever pavilion was designed not only to showcase its brands, but also to take visitors through a complete brand experience. To give their taste buds a real treat in the chilly weather, Knorr set up a sampling booth, serving hot soup to over 50,000 visitors. Clear and Dove provided services like scalp check, consultation and hair damage detection, the Pond’s beauty advisors had provided skin analysis through the Crystal Ball application.

Visitors could try the Litmus test at the Dove counter and see for themselves why Dove is the best caregiver for the skin - re-enforcing the claim the brand makes. The stain removal expert Surf Excel booth had live demos on how the detergent lived up to its fame. Pureit and Pepsodent also had brand activations for the visitors where the brands presented the benefits and effectiveness of the unique water purifier while the oral care brand shared their expertise on teeth sensitivity. 

The stage provided an outstanding opportunity for UBL to share knowledge about its brands with about 200,000 people. Unilever was successful in enthralling them with a complete brand experience under one roof.

For the first time in the last 11 years, an automated sales operation was set up at the Unilever pavilion in the DITF. The month long operation has done well in consumer sales as well for the company.

Taking place since 2000, DITF is the biggest showcase of trade in Bangladesh- jointly organized by the Export Promotion Bureau and the Ministry of Commerce. It is a platform that attracts partakers from all legs of local and foreign trade. Unilever has been an ardent partaker in DITF since 2002, and has consistently made efforts to present something better each year.
