Lux Channel I Super star

Lux has for long been the beauty soap of international stars, having been endorsed by global stars like Sophia Loren and Catherine Zeta Jones to national stars like Subarna Mustafa and Aupee Karim.

In Bangladesh, Lux has sought to provide young, ambitious women with a platform to realize their dreams and ambitions. Starting with tie- ups with Anandobichitra in 1989 and then later with Anandadhara, Lux has been instrumental in introducing to Bangladesh some of the brightest stars, like Aupee Karim, Kushum, Bipasha, Mou and many others.

Lux will be taking it’s search for glamorous talent even further from this year, taking into account the vast opportunities that the rapidly expanding audio – visual media is offering today’s girls. Partnering with Channel I, one of the leading Satellite channels in Bangladesh, a detailed contest has been chalked up that will provide a never before opportunity for young women to gain entry into the world of stardom and glamour. This mega - contest has been named the "Lux Channel I Super Star".

A press conference was held on June 14, 2005 in a prominent hotel to announce the launching of this program. The event was attended by journalists and media people from all the popular newspapers, magazines and TV channels, and was also graced by the presence of Lux stars Subarna Mustofa, Bipasha Hayat, Aupee Karim, Ishita, Limi, Kushum Shikder and Tinni.

Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director, Impress Telefilm said "Channel I has always been interested in doing innovative things and it is a great honour to be associated with a power brand like Lux, which has always been associated with glamour and stardom". 

Mr. Naushad Chowdhury, Brands & Development Director of Unilever Bangladesh added "Lux has been in the business of creating stars for a long time. We believe that our partnership with a dynamic channel like Channel I will take the event to new heights and will provide enormous opportunities to women looking to become stars". The signed contract was also exhibited in this program.

Subarna Mustafa, the famous cine-star, made a speech on behalf of the Lux stars. She spoke about her long association with Lux, and spoke about the importance of programs such as these which bring the glamour world within the reach of aspiring young women throughout the country. "Young women in Bangladesh have a wealth of talent that is just waiting to be discovered. I am glad that the Lux Channel I Superstar will actively aim to promote talent from all the divisions of the country" she commented.

Any girl over the age of eighteen can take part in this contest. The contestant has to send in 3 photos (front, side profile and full figure) along with a write-up on her talents. The write-up has to be within 50 words. The entries have to be sent to this address - Lux Channel I Super Star, GPO Box 507, Dhaka. All entries must reach the address by the 5th of July.

Lux Channel I Super Star will be aired nationally from July and the contest will be run for about three months.
