Head of Legal, Home Care General Counsel – Bangladesh

Abdullah Zobayer assumed the role of Head of Legal – Bangladesh and Home Care General Counsel – Bangladesh on 1 August 2026 and joined Unilever Bangladesh's Management Committee on the same date. He also serves as the Company Secretary of Unilever Bangladesh Limited.

With over 16 years of legal experience across FMCG, telecommunications, and private practice, he brings extensive expertise in legal strategy, dispute resolution, regulatory affairs, compliance, and corporate governance. A Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, he has established himself as a trusted business adviser by translating global mandates into effective local execution and delivering pragmatic legal solutions that protect the company’s reputation while enabling business growth.

Throughout his tenure at Unilever Bangladesh, Zobayer has led several enterprise-wide initiatives with significant business impact. He has managed the company’s complex disputes portfolio, shaping strategies across litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution while helping to reduce legal risks.

He has also led regulatory advocacy on behalf of Unilever and industry bodies, including the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), on key matters such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) requirements, and labour law compliance. He has also played an important role in advancing the Legal function’s digitisation and simplification agenda, improving productivity, consistency, and service delivery.

Zobayer brings extensive corporate governance and company secretarial experience from his role as Company Secretary of Unilever Bangladesh, where he supported Board and shareholder governance. In his current role, he leads the legal agenda for Unilever Bangladesh and its group entities, further strengthening the Legal function’s role as a strategic business partner and an enabler of sustainable growth.
