Essam ElOkda is the Customer Service and Logistics Director at Unilever Bangladesh Limited. He brings over 23 years of diversified experience across supply chain, logistics, customer operations, manufacturing, procurement, planning, and digital transformation, with leadership exposure across Arabia, North Africa & Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and North America.

Throughout his Unilever career, Essam has held senior local, regional, and global roles, including Logistics Head Arabia – GCC, Global Logistics Digital Transformation Director, Digital Supply Chain Transformation Manager for North Africa & Middle East, Regional Logistics Transformation Manager, Supply Chain Procurement Manager, Collaborative Manufacturing Manager – Africa, and Supply Planning & Logistics Manager across multiple markets.

Essam is known for combining strategic foresight with hands-on execution. He has led large-scale transformation programmes across logistics networks, factories, warehouses, transport operations, 3PL ecosystems, and digital supply chain platforms. His work has focused on improving customer experience, unlocking cost efficiency, building resilient supply chains, and strengthening data-driven decision-making.

In his recent roles, Essam led multi-million-euro logistics savings programmes, established Cost-to-Serve digital capabilities, advanced real-time visibility and analytics, integrated WMS and TMS with 3PL partners, and pioneered intermodal logistics with Etihad Rail. He has also played a key role in building digital supply chain capability, upskilling teams, and embedding future-fit ways of working across diverse markets and cultures.

Essam holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Alexandria University, with a graduation project focused on Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks for logistics and planning optimisation. He is also an advisory board member and an active advocate of digital transformation, people capability building, and responsible business growth.
