With over 27 years of experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, Zaved Akhtar has extensive expertise in global and local marketing, business and sales management, and business transformation across Asia.

Zaved joined Unilever in 2000 after 3.5 years at British American Tobacco, and has since excelled in re-engineering businesses, embedding change, building and leading diverse teams with a shared purpose to deliver outstanding results. His work includes bespoke innovation, brand communication idea development, and deploying brand development models across Asia.
He studied in St. Joseph High School, Dhaka College, and is a graduate of Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. Zaved is an alumnus of St. Joseph High School, Dhaka College, and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has also completed professional courses at IIM Ahmedabad and INSEAD, Singapore. Currently, he serves as the Chairman and Managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh and the President of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
Over the years Zaved has garnered experience across different FMCG verticals and has navigated companies through multiple environmental, economic, and political crisis. An avid reader and prolific writer, he is widely regarded as an expert in the FMCG industry, frequently speaking at industry events and conferences, and contributing to national newspapers on industry-related topics and economic issues.
