Save Lives. Help moms ensure that their kids fall ill a little less often.

Lifebuoy, an undisputed market leader for 117 years, has a compelling vision “to make 5 billion people across the world, feel safe and secure by meeting their personal care hygiene & health needs.

Lifebuoy, the biggest health soap brand in Bangladesh, has since its inception strived to aid Bangladeshis to meet their health and hygiene needs. Lifebuoy is also the first and only brand in Bangladesh to receive the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), London’s accreditation status that recognises Lifebuoy’s purposeful and meaningful contributions to improve hygiene education around the world.

Healthcare is a fundamental human right, and yet access to quality healthcare facilities remains a challenge in many parts of the world. Lifebuoy has been working to democratize health care in Bangladesh for many years. Bangladesh is a riverine country, and there are remote chars (river islands) in northern Bangladesh with little or no road connectivity. Over 10 million people live in these remote areas and reaching them with healthcare services is a challenge.

In our continuous effort to make healthcare accessible to all, Lifebuoy has partnered with the non-profit organization Friendship to reach the people of the most remote chars of northern Bangladesh. As a result, in 2002, a river barge that was brought from France to Bangladesh was converted into a hospital ship and the historical journey of Lifebuoy Friendship Hospital began. It was launched in 2003 with the aim of providing quality healthcare to remote communities living in the chars of Bangladesh.

Staying true to the brand’s purpose, throughout the last decade, Lifebuoy has been conducting the biggest hand hygiene education campaign in Bangladesh to address child mortality and building handwashing habits through “Lifebuoy Liquid Everyday” programme. Since 2011, Lifebuoy has been educating school children in Bangladesh about the importance and proper methods of handwashing.
